Party of Five
10:37PM, May 15th, 2007
I’ve been tagged by James O’Brien (whom I met in a sensational indian takeout on Oxford Street… wasn’t it?) to list my five life goals.
I haven’t got any prepared, so here’s some I’ll whip up for you now:
1. To find a way to sustain my life doing what I feel I have to do.
2. To have people think I’m (essentially) a nice person.
3. To always get better at everything I do.
4. To never lose the magic of my passions.
5. At the end of it all, to have enough to tell some kid at the bus stop my life story.
I’m also supposed to tag people, but I’m curious as to what my commenters think. Specifically, I tag Minty, Tammy, Kevin, AJ and Rebecca. Anyone else is very encouraged to get all Oprah on me. Just don’t go talking about The Secret to me, because I rate that at LEAST as annoying as scientology.

That was fast. Presuming I will see you on Friday night at Up Close & Musical?
Comment by James — May 15, 2007 @ 10:51 pm
1. To fulfill my life dream of becoming a pilot (selfish I know)
2. To bring happiness and joy to anyone I have the
pleasure of meeting, and to make sure that those I have become close friends will always remember me
3. To never lose the ability to listen to and understand music, and to gain the ability to actually MAKE it myself
4. To travel the world in order to see the vast cultures and cultural differences many fail to understand
5. To live the Australian Dream - wife, house, family - and pass the knowledge and experiences I have gained on to the next generation.
By the way, make sure you get some people together and come along to see The Whitlams play with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, if you haven’t already…I thought about all of those goals while listening to Tim pump out some tunes. I don’t know if that means anything, but anyway…

James - Yes, thanks for reminding me to book!
AJ - I have to buy tickets to so many shows this year I don’t think I’d be really keen for Whitlams & SSO. Nice goals though.

1. To get through to the end of the house project without strangling someone - possibly myself.
2. To meet some (or all) of the friends I have met through various places on the internet.
3. To live long enough to enjoy my retirement.
4. To write at least one novel or collection of short stories.
5. To try and be a mentor to younger people - preferably without arousing the suspicion of the police.
When I was 5, my only goal in life was to drive trains when I grew up - once I got there, I didn’t have a plan B.

Oh Tyson,
I’m not sure i can ‘do’ serious ..
Hmmmmm, lets see ..
1. To continue to grow spiritually.
2. To notice and learn from evolving.
3. To nurture and learn from family and friends.
4. To never slip into taking what is most important to
me for granted
5. To keep laughing

You probably won’t need to book and it’s unreserved seating. It’s a big week for me, I saw Dave Mason tonight at The Basement, and it’s Barry Humphries tomorrow night. I hope I have enough energy by 11pm Friday.

Tyson, am I the Rebecca you speak of? There are so many of us.
