Track Pack

Packing is awful.
First off you do the simple stuff. Square things in square boxes. CDs. DVDs. As you fill each box you find things you forgot you had. You reminice over ancient CDs and remember how simple things were back then. Suddenly you look out the window and it’s dark outside. You’ve spent four hours packing 2 boxes and you can’t even lift them. The guilt sets in. You’re making someone else lift the boxes. Sure, they’re getting paid by the hour, but ultimately less than the fees they’ll be paying by the hour to the doctors and physical therapists to repair their mutilated spines that you contributed to.
Then you look around and there’s nothing else you feel you can pack. Sure, there are the books, but what if you need them? I can’t pack away my audio equipment, I need that. Oh, and I’m still not sure if I’m keeping those old picture frames. Yeah, and I need to sort out those papers too. And those ones. Don’t touch them, they’re in my own special order.
How do you pack cables? With the things they plug into, or separately? Do you pack in categories, or into boxes of what you’ll need urgently? Or both? It’s a nightmare for OCD folk like me.

Cables and their attachments are packed last - you fit them into any boxes that are left over from all the simple packing.
I hate packing too. I get sidetracked by the books I haven’t read in ages or the CDs that I forgot about then just have to play immediately. The unpacking can be fun though and that’s worth the effort.

Make sure you pack those brown cowboy boots in the ‘never to be seen again’ box.

Why are you packing? Are you moving again?

Kevin - Yes, it’s fun to find old books, old CDs etc.
Rebecca - I’ll be sure to give that box to Becky whe she visits so she can pass them on to you.
Zoe - Yeap! We’ve got the 17 month itch again!
