Podcast #2 - “Call Me”
1:58PM, February 27th, 2005
Thanks to those people who listened to the last podcast. I received some enthusiastic (if slightly sarcastic) feedback. I realise it was pretty mundane, but people seemed to enjoy it.
Today’s podcast (don’t go thinking this is going to happen on a regular basis… I don’t know how people find the time to podcast daily. It takes me hours) tells a story. A very important story. It is the story of a boy who has many difficulties organising his absent-minded friends. Listen well, for this is not just a story, but moment of life education.
And its also very cool now that I can record phone calls (that was my Saturday morning project).

I’ve also set up an RSS 2.0 feed for just the Podcast blog entries. If you think you’d like to listen to more of my podcasts, download a program like iPodder (I chose that because it’s on many platforms) and copy my feed link into that program and everytime you check for new feeds, it will automatically download the latest podcasts.
Of course, I’m very interested in receiving MP3 audio messages to play on the show, which you can email to tyson@etinif.net (by sending them to me, you give me permission to play them on the show).

My First Podcast
8:49PM, February 25th, 2005
My very first podcast is now online.
Warning: its very tame. It’s just me chatting to myself (too much) and some random music tracks, but if I decide to do more (its up to you), then I’ll organise some interviews with Becky, Tamala, Jake and Phillip and so forth.

You’ll be glad to note its on AJ’s server space (thanks!) and not my lame little donkey kart server. You can either save that file to your hard drive or MP3 player, or stream it by entering the address into your Winamp/iTunes “Open Location/URL” option.
Let me know how much it stinks.

Okay, who’s the bastard who found my site searching for ‘turrets syndrome videos‘? And why the hell are you using Yahoo to search?
Subsequently I am third on that search inquiry.
On a very similar note, I recorded material for my first podcast today. The main problem is I talk far too much. Is anyone actually interested in this?

Payback

Sometimes good things happen to good people. They also happen to bad people. Take this for instance. I took delivery of my new M3 today and set up the cradle, plugged it all in and started charging it. When I was going over the box I noticed there was a grey sticker (with silver text) on the silver box which read “M3L 20gig”. The M3L is a different model to the M3. Everything is exactly the same except it is slightly bigger (thicker by about 4mm), yet the battery life is actually 35 hours rather than 14 (iPods can piss off with their 7 hours or whatever). I compared the measurements of my unit with the measurements of the M3L and it matches up - so I got an extra $100 worth of MP3 player for free! Fantastic! I guess it makes up for the broken record player, the DVD without the actual disc and the box of cd covers that never turned up.
Meanwhile, loading my files onto the player has become a hellish process because a) I only have USB1 which feels like I’m using a zip drive and b) random files decide they will cause an I/O error and stop the process. Any ideas anyone?

An Affair to Remember
4:41PM, February 22nd, 2005
So against my better judgment I went into uni today for the planned ‘meeting’ for music and drama students. It was as I had feared, a 10 minute deal with lots of hooting and loud noises from the drama students. I picked up a diary, played trivia at the unibar, and decided I couldn’t wait around for another 40 minutes for the next lecture (I had already waited 2 hours and 20 minutes) for the first lecture of microeconomics and headed home.
I’m glad I did go in though, because every time I took a few steps I ran into someone I hadn’t seen in a long time. I chatted to Lucy as soon as I got off the bus, but we forget to get each other’s emails again, and I know she has changed her phone number.
I want my MP3 player.

Freaky, weird, unusual. Kind of reminds me of that show “Crank Yankers” on the Comedy Channel.
