Sorting and Clearing

Today is a day for cleaning and sorting out things after a bit of a whirlwind weekend.

Any weekend when I’m involved in a show is a busy one, due to the sheer number of hours I’m out and about, but this weekend was even busier due to Phillip and Jake being in town, so we spent time after the Saturday evening performance meeting with them. Still adjusting to my bed, after a rather unsatisfying sleep that night/morning, we did our last show on Sunday and finished up bumping out the pit, and having our short after-party. As usual I struggled to fit the array of presents in my bag, so I had to wrangle my collection of a teddy bear, a mug with the shows logo, a big soup mug full of lollies, and a box of Darrell Lea assorted selections. I was also given a “Smilies” award for smiling (the two incidents quoted were when I found Sam’s distorted violin playing very funny, and when I had to fill in for Janne-Maree).

I didn’t stay as long as I usually do, but dashed home to drop off my things (my mother instantly saying “Oooh! Darrell Lea, my favourite!”) and headed back out to Greg’s for Australian Idol. Thankfully he was taping it, and because it took us a while to get organised and Adam was cooking (for the second night in a row!) we ended up watching it after it was live. I worked with Adam to sort out Greg’s computer and free up an IDE channel for the DVD drive, and we’ve got to finish it off next weekend.

My plan for today is to pack away all the junk on my desk and on my bag, and hopefully get a start on some of the work I’ve got to do for next monday. It’s study week this week, and I’ve really got to work hard to get it all done.
